Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing and using RoomNest, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not use our service.

2. Use License

Permission is granted to temporarily download one copy of the materials (information or software) on RoomNest for personal, non-commercial transitory viewing only. This is the grant of a license, not a transfer of title, and under this license you may not:

• Modify or copy the materials
• Use the materials for any commercial purpose or for any public display
• Attempt to decompile or reverse engineer any software contained on RoomNest
• Remove any copyright or other proprietary notations from the materials
• Transfer the materials to another person or "mirror" the materials on any other server
• Harass, abuse, or harm another person through the service

3. User Accounts

When you create an account on RoomNest, you must provide accurate, complete, and current information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account information and password, and for all activities that occur under your account.

4. Rental and Lease Agreements

RoomNest facilitates connections between students and hosts. Rental agreements are contracts between the student and host. RoomNest is not a party to these agreements and is not responsible for enforcement, disputes, or performance of lease terms.

5. Payment Terms

Rent payments made through RoomNest are processed securely. RoomNest acts as a payment intermediary. All payments are subject to our payment processing terms. Refunds are subject to the lease agreement between student and host.

6. Verification

RoomNest requires student identity verification and proof of enrollment. For students with bursary funding, institution verification is required. False information may result in account suspension or termination.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the service to post false, misleading, or inaccurate information
• Engage in fraud, deception, or misrepresentation
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Infringe on intellectual property rights
• Post explicit, offensive, or abusive content
• Harass, threaten, or intimidate other users
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems

8. Limitation of Liability

RoomNest and its suppliers will not be liable for any damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of data or profit, or due to business interruption) arising out of the use or inability to use materials on RoomNest, even if RoomNest or an authorized representative has been notified orally or in writing of the possibility of such damage.

9. Modifications

RoomNest may revise these terms of service at any time without notice. By using this site, you are agreeing to be bound by the then current version of these terms of service.

10. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and you irrevocably submit yourself to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in South Africa.
